About Jack [COURTESY POST]

His story: This November, we found him on 35 (literally on the highway) and pulled over to scoop him up before he got hit. Right away I knew something was wrong because he was so skinny and so weak. We took him home, put him in our garage away from our two dogs and called the vet. In the mean time he ate nothing, drank nothing and was vomiting. I feared the worst as I took him to the vet the next day. Sure enough, he tested positive for parvo. She gave him a 50-50 shot of making it through the night, but he pulled through and after 3 days of intensive care and fluids, he came home a very happy, very strong albeit skinny pup of about a year. About a week later we had him neutered and full vaccines given. So we've been fostering him since then, teaching manners, basic commands, how to go in a crate and sleep there and getting him back healthy. He's a high-energy dog, but loves to please. We have two cats and he's good with them, but will chase the one that runs away from him. He doesn't do anything to her, or anything he chases, but if it will run, he thinks it's fun to run after it. :) We haven't had him around too many kids, but the couple he's seen, he was just fine with. He loves to play and will play fetch or tug-of-war forever. He loves walks and has been out to my mom's farm which he loves because there is so much room to run and play! He groans when he's happy or about to take a nap, also one of his favorite activities. please email sarah.slamer@gmail.com for more information on Jack!

We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application.

We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information.

We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.
