Hi, I'm Chandika! I was a stray, so lonely at the shelter, then Adopt-A-Pit saved me and now I've got a very *not* lonely place to hang out while I wait for you...my forever family! Everyone has been kind to me, and I warm up to people quickly and love to sit in laps. If I need a little more affection I'll sit like a meerkat and nuzzle your face. I like to put my head right in the crook of your neck and cozy right on up. I don't know mum and dad, but I think I'm a Dachshund mix. You may laugh, but just look at me! There may be some Beagle and Chi-Chi in my DNA, too, so I'm 32 flavours and then some, a little bit of something for everybody! I may only be 12 pounds, and my legs are short, but I can spring right up into your lap and bed, and I have lots of goofy, big dog attitude! I will flop onto my back for belly rubs any time, any day, anywhere. Tummy pats are the best! I like to play with other dogs, though if they get too rowdy I'll steer clear and go find my humans for some peace, quiet, and pets. Cats were a little scary at first, but now that I'm used to them I love them, too. Humans of all sizes are my favorites, though, I like it best when they're sitting so I can sproing right up on them and cuddle. If you aren't sitting in a manner conducive to me sitting in your lap, I will let you know to please-oh-please reposition yourself by letting out a little heart-string tugging whine. I'm only about 2 years old and the world can be a little overwhelming at times. When that happens, I like to snooze and chill in my crate until things calm down. I love going outside and chewing bones, and I know how to walk pretty on a leash! I also *always* do my business outside. I'm a clean gal who's bright and inquisitive. I learn quickly and take direction. If you're looking for a small, calm, quiet dog with a big dog personality and bark, please adopt me! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home.

We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application.

We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information.

We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.
